The Story Behind the Image
📍 Location: Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana
When an elephant bull enters musth, his testosterone levels can be 60 times higher than normal, making him aggressive and unpredictable in search of a mate. Signs include dribbling urine and sweat-stained temporal glands—a warning for any observer to keep their distance!
This commanding bull broke through the treeline, and as I captured the shot, I knew it was time to make a hasty retreat. The intensity of his gaze and the sheer power in his stance are what make this image unforgettable.
